It is with MUCH sadness (& with way, way more tears & kleenx than y'all will ever know) that i am writing this. However, after 3 years of organizing weekly PawsToThe Rescue (PTTR) runs, the ugly side of rescue has for me started to overtake what should & has previously been be a very rewarding effort to save dogs... shelter animals who had no hope before our help came along. These animals genuinely deserve a fresh & energized perspective to help them reach safe rescue, a perspective my personal experiences no longer let me hold of this very daunting task... or of some of those involved.
So it is with much sadness & a broken heart, I am announcing I will be stepping down as the PTTR "east run" run organizer effective no later than the end of July 2012.... or sooner if a replacement can be found.
I am & will remain a committed friend, rescuer, rescue contact, & occasional transport driver to those of you who i know (& love) oh so well..... but will simply be choosing not to assume the perpetual duties of organizing the weekly PTTR transports beyond that point. :o(
